Tomohiro Tanikawa

B.S., 1997, Department of Industrial Machinery and Engineering, The University of Tokyo; M.S., 1999, Department of Mechanical and Information Engineering, The University of Tokyo; Ph. D. in 2002 from the University of Tokyo, a researcher at the National Institute of Communications and Broadcasting (NICT) in 2004, a lecturer at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo in 2005, a lecturer at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo in 2006, a specially-appointed associate professor at the same university in 2016, a specially-appointed associate professor at the Virtual Reality Education Center, the University of Tokyo in 2019, and a specially-appointed associate professor at the Virtual Reality Education Center, the University of Tokyo in 2020. He is currently a professor at the Center for Social ICT Research, The University of Tokyo, where he has been working since 2024. He is engaged in research on virtual reality and mixed reality. He is also actively involved in the social development of communication support technologies and digital museums that focus on emotions and feelings.
